I imagine it can be possible within an app, without modifying source code, but stuff like WYSIWYG editor might be a bit tricky. I think that it'd be a really good example app that provides immediate value while also being straightforward to understand and reverse engineer.

Stuff like blogs seem trivial but will draw the attention of people who are getting started building a business. Literally like "Wow if I use this, we don't have to worry about hooking up a blogging app". Slowly building out an arsenal of apps which provide instant value in annoying areas all businesses need to figure out at some point.

Making Windmill more attractive is a noble goal, but I have the feeling that a specialized tool will give more value than an app that tries to solve everything. From my perspective, the Windmill team is doing a great job at going deep to the core of the Orchestration UX challenges and solving them with unique grace. There is probably still so much more on their roadmap that building new tools could be a distraction and bad for the project.

Very good point, which I also agree with. Only thing I'd say is that the current apps in the hub are quite barebones and specialized as to not be useful for 90+% of viewers. I'll think some more about how it could be approached

Yeah. The angle I'm coming at this from is: Anyone can upload apps, but a hub is a network requiring careful cultivation. Left to evolve on its own, it fragments or fills with non-useful content, leading to declining use. Which is a self-reinforcing feedback loop. Initial conditions are crucial. I’ve dealt with this before—Jono Bacon's People Powered is the best book I've seen in that area. It’s easy to settle for “good enough” & move on, since feature value is direct and immediate, while a well-curated hub's value only emerges over time making it hard to predict & easy to underestimate.

So - I've run into a little problem, and I'm not sure if it's user error.

I have a duckdb script which was working fine, but I want to change it to be able to cache the database file locally. I thought the way to do that would be with a dedicated worker, but now the script isn't picking up the secrets correctly any more:

in the current worker/job queue architecture, do the workers themselves read and write about their execution status – e.g. if the windmill-app process is dying, and the worker picks up a job before it dies, would it be able to execute it (as well as write the necessary results to postgres)?

I've moved a windmill instance from one cloud to another, all good, after setting up the roles correctly all is humming along, even logged me in with my existing token, yay, I see everything.
But, none of the users see anything anymore, all the permisisons and groups seems to be there, any ideas why this could be?
